Eight years after his previous solo EP in Peace Off Records, Infekkted returns with his 4-track Wrongpad debut, “The Future Was Now”. Minimal melodies, hard futuristic basses, heavy beats, and dystopian chords make this a cohesive release that will satisfy listeners from various musical backgrounds. The EP takes the listener to a musical rollercoaster, traversing musical genres and tempos. From the dubstep-like “Grittings”, Infekkted’s tempo becomes faster as he switches to the drum and bass rhythms of “Dissolution”. Just about when the listener has felt sweeped by its pace, Infekkted slows the tempo down with the gabber kicks of “The Burn”. The circle is complete with the industrial “Day 1”, which pins the listener back down to where they started. Still dizzy after almost 22 minutes, you can feel that this EP was a hell of a ride.
